Marnie has over 20 years of experience working as a controller in the construction and real estate industry.
Most recently, Marnie worked as a Controller for McFarlane Construction Inc where she oversaw all the office management and all the financial reporting and duties. In 2019 she took on an additional role as Project Manager for the addition of a 3rd story to a 16-unit apartment building making it a 24 unit as well as a full renovation to the existing 16 units. Marnie also has extensive experience using QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop. Over the years she has used all the modules such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Ledger, Journal Entries and Financial Statements and prepares quarterly payroll reports and sales tax remittances. Prior to working for McFarlane Construction Inc, Marnie had a bookkeeping business which also included work as a Temp Controller for a Senior Living Center and as a Temp Controller for a Drug and Alcohol Rehab Center. In addition, she had various other small business bookkeeping clients in the real estate investment industry and in retail. Marnie got her start as an Accounting Technician for KPMG Chartered Accountants in Canada while she went to school. During this time, she gained much experience in auditing non-profit organizations and preparing financial statements for businesses in various industries. Marnie received her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the University of the Fraser Valley with a major in Accounting. |
