CONTINGENT SEARCH FAQs


Contingent-based solutions do not charge an upfront fee. The fee is based only on successful placement of a candidate. This no-fee model presents a low financial risk.  

Contingent-based vis Retained Search: 
  • A contingency recruiter is only paid a fee when someone is hired by the organization.
  • A retained search consultant is paid in advance to conduct a search that usually results in hiring a qualified candidate. 

As a contingency recruiter, we look for matches in a database of known candidates and send those candidates’ resumes to clients for possible interviews.

What is a contingent search?
WHAT IS A CONTINGENT SEARCH?
​A contingent search is a professional recruiting service where a company does not pay a fee unless they hire a candidate represented by the recruiting firm. 
What is the fee?
WHAT IS THE FEE?
​We offer fixed fee arrangements or fees as a percent of first year base salary. Contingent fees are typically a percent of first year base salary. A fixed-fee may be right for a company whose approved base-salary range is large, or for a company with a fixed budget. 
Why not try to fill the position on my own?
WHY NOT TRY TO FILL THE POSITION ON MY OWN?
​Many companies do not have internal recruiting departments and can use online recruiting tools like Indeed, LinkedIn and Zip Recruiter at a fraction of the cost. These tools are very powerful and can certainly prove successful, however, it’s important to keep in mind they only target candidates who are actively seeking a new job. Through decades of experience, we have found a majority of placed candidates are passive job seekers. Using a trusted recruiter taps into a completely different inventory of candidates.

The contingent recruiting service is performed by a recruitment company for free until the day a candidate represented by them takes a position with their client.
Our recruiting team understands the challenges of working on this basis and may also compete with the client’s internal HR department, advertising, direct applicants and one or more other recruitment companies.

These challenges motivate our recruiting team to do their best work, to represent the best candidate or candidates and to do so faster than the other channels.

As an example, if a vacancy is hard to fill, there will likely be only a few candidates qualified for the position. Providing a solution before everyone else is vital for a successful “no win, no fee” recruiter.
