Laurie has dedicated her career to the field of accounting and brings over 25 years of experience in Controller, Accounting Manager, and Senior Accountant roles. Her expertise has been cultivated across multiple industries including tech startups, real estate, property management, and construction. She excels in closely collaborating with companies and clients to solve complex problems and has earned a reputation for being highly resourceful and tenacious in her approach to finding solutions. Laurie prioritizes attention to detail, accuracy, and maintaining high-quality financial records. She also has a passion for mentoring business owners and accounting teams. Her superpower is interpersonal communication, as she has a knack for explaining complicated concepts and ensuring every person feels heard. 

Prior to joining the ASP team, Laurie held Controller positions in both a technology/SaaS startup company and a real estate firm in the Seattle area. In these roles she was responsible for managing all financial operations and leading a team of 5 accounting professionals. This involved monthly full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, payroll, budgeting and forecast analysis, business tax preparation, process improvement, prioritizing efficiency, and tracking shareholder equity. 

Laurie holds an associate degree in Accounting from Green River College and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Youth Development from Highline College. In her spare time, Laurie is a public speaker who volunteers with organizations that advocate for mental health and suicide awareness among youth.
