Our client is a non-sectarian independent school located on the east side of Lake Washington. They are one of the oldest such schools in the region, and serve 300+ students/year on a beautiful, state of the art campus. POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Accountant will be the school’s highest level full-time accountant. Working underneath a tenured, fractional non-profit CFO, this person will manage the entire accounting function including close, payroll, benefits and the annual audits. This person will also be a leader with regard to setting internal controls and accounting policies for the department while representing the school’s financial health to all of the school’s constituencies. 

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY

Ideally, a candidate who has similar accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience in an independent school environment will step into this position. They are seeking a candidate with solid non-profit accounting experience and understanding, the ability to process payroll and manage benefits for the entire institution and manage the entire general ledger. A degree in accounting is not required, but preferred. Additionally, experience with a Tier 2 accounting system is required, preferably a non-profit system.
