CLIENT SUMMARY

Active at the national, regional, state and local levels, their team of experts thoughtfully examine opportunities and work collaboratively to drive programs and policies.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Finance role will oversee accounting and finance functions with a strong emphasis on internal controls. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, this role will be supported and mentored by a part-time, retained CFO. This person will direct the organizational budget, prepare and present quarterly financial statements to the Board and prepare and manage the organization’s 50+ project level budgets. Managing a Senior Accountant and a Financial Analyst, they will oversee recurring payroll, billing, payables, banking and reconciliations. Finally, this person is a steward for the organization’s GL and related internal controls. 

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from four-year accredited college or university
  • CPA license or candidate is preferred
  • At least five (5) years of direct nonprofit accounting experience
  • Proficiency in fund accounting
  • At least 2 years’ experience of nonprofit audits, familiarity with GAAP/generally accepted accounting principles and standards affecting nonprofit organizations
  • Experience with Great Plains and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated skills necessary to coordinate the flow of information to and from program staff who possess varying degrees of financial knowledge
