CLIENT SUMMARY

Our client is a well-known premium food manufacturer with products sold in 48 states. Initially founder/owner run, they are transitioning to a PE-owned business and continue to be focused on growth, both in terms of getting their products on more shelves and in gross margin. With very solid operational infrastructure, production team and capacity in place, they are poised to continue to capitalize on their excellent brand awareness and reputation. Buoyed by an extremely flexible culture and a family atmosphere, this company will no doubt continue to grow as they have over the past 10 years. 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Finance will have responsibility for all accounting and finance activities of the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO in a #1 level position, this person will have a focus on operational issues like budgeting/forecasting, cash flow, financial reporting, managing inventory systems, and working closely with the operations group. Additionally, this role will lead the charge on driving gross margin improvement. Managing a team of 4 with a strong Accounting Manager reporting to you, this person will be intimately involved in building and executing on corporate strategy and in driving the evolution of the company. 

This position pays a base salary of between $130-170k with a 30% discretionary bonus and medical, dental, vision, time-off and retirement beneifts.

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY

The following are near requirements for all applicants:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA, CPA and/or CMA preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting in manufacturing industries required.
  • Exposure to privately held companies and/or companies with private equity backing.
  • Experience leading or executing on a company’s strategy to improve gross margin preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented individual and uses principles-first approach to problem solving; hands on coach/mentor.
  • Prior experience with QuickBooks Enterprise is a plus.
