CLIENT SUMMARYOur client is a local non-profit whose goal is to strengthen and empower small to mid-sized manufacturers across the state of Washington. As the official representative working in the state, they are affiliated with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and obtain funding to work with manufacturers to identify the unique challenges and opportunities to advance their competitive edge in today’s global economy and excel in every facet of manufacturing. Through a wide array of consulting and training solutions across myriad areas (including leadership development, supply chain, cyber security, skills development and operational excellence), they make improvement, growth, and sustainability possible.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Director of Finance will be the organization’s number one Accounting and Finance resource working closely with the President to support the organization’s goals. As an active participant in overall strategy setting, this person will also lead all financial administration, budgeting, financial reporting, fiscal grant management, and policy/control maintenance. With a full-time support accountant, the Director of Finance balances operational finance and strategic objectives to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, and to help ensure the highest level of service towards the organization’s mission.
QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARYThe organization is looking to replace a tenured Director of Finance, and thus is seeking a highly experienced Accounting and Finance professional who is passionate about serving a non-profit organization with a mission to help local manufacturers. Knowledge of government accounting and grants is of utmost importance and a highly qualified candidate will likely have at least 10 years of experience in Controller+ position at a $10-50M for profit or non-profit organization with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Additionally, a detailed working knowledge of GAAP, audits, and other regulatory requirements in a non-profit is preferred.
