With nearly 20 years serving the world with their delectable products, our client is a pioneering food brand committed to organic products and fair-trade practices. Their products are now sold internationally from their factory based in Seattle. They are committed to creating a more beautiful, compassionate, and enduring world by responsibly making delicious and inspiring products for everyone. Transparency across the entire supply chain has been a tenet for their success since the beginning, working directly with all their suppliers about pricing but also tasting their finished products.
The company sources 1,500+ metric tons of raw materials for their products each year with myriad other inputs, so costing their products is essential to the company’s continued success. The Cost Accounting position will report directly to the Corporate Controller and is part of a small, devoted team and will be the company’s dedicated cost accounting professional. This person will be tasked with performing advanced cost analyses to compare estimates to actuals, aid in period-end close and reporting, and preparing a variety of other cost-based reporting.
They are seeking someone with a solid understanding of US GAAP and managerial accounting, which can be gained through an earned Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field) or through on the job training. This person needs at least two years of related work experience in cost accounting, ideally in a manufacturing environment. Other experience that is nice to have is exposure to Microsoft Dynamics GP and an understanding of internal control frameworks.
