CLIENT SUMMARYFounded over 40 years ago, our client is a local chapter of a world-wide nonprofit organization focused on helping people achieve strength, stability and independence through safe, decent and affordable shelter. This local chapter is based in and serves King County but recently has also merged with Kittitas County to expand their outreach. With an increased budget and a growth-minded CEO, the organization is set to continue to improve lives.
POSITION SUMMARYThe Controller will report to the part-time, experienced CFO and will manage the organization’s accounting operations while managing a small team. Apart from ownership of all GL accounting, financial close and reporting, this person will also guide construction-related accounting and FP&A working closely with the Construction team. This is a growth-minded organization and a growth-oriented role, with upward mobility a possibility in the future.
QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARYRequired qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, experience with nonprofit organization and construction accounting. Preferred qualifications include exposure to federal grant compliance, retail accounting, Sage 100 (or a similar system), and at least 5 years of progressive experience with a start in public accounting. Intangible qualifications include a preference for someone who demonstrates flexibility, a sense of humor and grace under pressure.
