CLIENT SUMMARY

Our client is an early-stage, hyper-growth tech startup looking to build out their Accounting team locally. Their digital platform empowers retailers to grow sales and build brand loyalty. Their customers are both individual shoppers and large retail chains and their enterprise SaaS solution is ready for both retailers and brands. With seed capital raised they are raising more money and poised to continue their hyper growth.

POSITION SUMMARY

This is the all-everything, do-everything Controller for the time being. The company’s new CFO starts in June and this is their second hire in Finance. The Controller will be a builder: of process, infrastructure, systems and a team. Everything will be built to scale with the company’s projected growth. 

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from a four-year accredited college or university.
  • At least 10 years of experience, and has worked in Big-4 public accounting and in a startup environment.
  • Preferably with Controller or Controller-type experience leading an accounting and finance function in an early-stage company, this person will need to be hands-on (posting every journal entry, completing every reconciliation) for 6-9 months.
  • Accounting system implementation experience is also nice to have.
