Sofya is a full cycle accounting professional with more than 23 years of experience supporting nonprofit and for profit organizations, healthcare, governmental and private education, faith based institutions, and multi entity operations. Her approach is steady, accurate, ethical, and service oriented. She strictly follows the IMA Code of Professional Conduct.
Before joining ASP, Sofya served in senior accounting roles across nonprofit organizations in Washington and Oregon. In those roles, she managed all phases of accounting, including standard and one time journal entries, AR, AP, fixed assets, cash management, month end close, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, internal and external reporting, team support, intercompany coordination, and audit preparation. Her passion lies in nonprofit work: she values the opportunity to support organizations that improve lives, strengthen communities, and contribute to the country that became home for her and her family. Sofya believes accounting is more than numbers. Reliable financial information empowers leaders to make informed decisions, inspires donors and stakeholders, and ensures clients receive the support they need. Sofya holds a master’s degree in international accounting and IFRS from the Higher School of Economics in Moscow, Russia. Outside of work, she enjoys watercolor painting, traveling, reading, studying, volunteering at her church, and spending time with her family. |
