Franky Tallavas is an accounting operations leader with more than a decade of experience building and scaling financial infrastructure for companies in rapid growth. Based in Portland, Oregon, he specializes in the intersection of technical accounting and systems automation — the work of making finance functions faster, cleaner, and audit-ready without adding headcount for its own sake.
Most recently, Franky served as Global Accounts Payable Manager at CoreWeave, where he led financial operations and strategy through one of the more demanding growth curves in the technology sector. He built a distributed team of 15 professionals spanning the United States, Costa Rica, and Poland under a Global Business Services model, growing the function from zero direct reports while developing the documentation, training, and KPIs that let an offshore team operate with consistency. Under his leadership, the organization processed more than $1 billion in monthly payables across over 4,000 invoices, with the touchless invoice rate rising from 20 percent to 70 percent and the A/P close compressing from ten days to three across six global entities and currencies. Much of that improvement came from systems work. Franky architected deployments of Squareworks and Ramp, partnered with IT to integrate HRIS and establish general ledger synchronization, and eliminated manual coding from the workflow. In parallel, he prepared the business for public company reporting standards — designing segregation of duties, building audit-ready internal control frameworks, and serving as primary owner for quarterly and annual audit inquiries. He also overhauled the corporate T&E policy to tighten controls against fraud and spend leakage, re-engineered the purchase order process alongside Treasury and Procurement to protect liquidity for critical capital expenditures, and led a vendor master data cleanse with an annual refresh protocol. Before CoreWeave, Franky was Senior Accountant at Rivet Campus Media, where he managed a comprehensive financial turnaround — reconciling fifteen months of backlogged financial statements to restore GAAP compliance and visibility, then executing the financial divestiture and book closeout of a former business entity during a corporate restructuring. He owned revenue recognition under ASC 606, maintained a five-day month-end close, and established the company's accounting policies and internal controls while mentoring junior staff. Earlier roles at Ventura Coastal and Wheel Fun Rentals grounded him in full-cycle accounting fundamentals. At Ventura Coastal he owned the month-end close end to end, streamlined it from fifteen days to ten, and prepared board-level financial statements while partnering with executives on cash flow forecasts and variance analysis. At Wheel Fun Rentals he implemented a new fixed asset management system that prevented more than $100,000 in erroneous write-offs and redesigned the expense reporting workflow, cutting processing time from fourteen days to five. Franky holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Colorado State University. His technical toolkit spans US GAAP, ASC 606 and ASC 842, SOX and audit readiness, and a deep bench of systems including NetSuite, Coupa, Concur, Bill.com, Blackline, Ramp, and emerging AI-driven automation. On his free time, Franky enjoys hiking and camping throughout the Pacific Northwest, traveling internationally, and spending time with friends and family. |
