What are we hearing from candidates? "I’ve hit a ceiling." Candidates are responding to our outreaches. Many of them are content in their current roles. However, we often hear they have hit a ceiling, and there is not growth for them in terms of compensation or position at their current company. This is often due to the people above them are not moving causing a bottleneck. Also, sometimes the company is not growing and maybe even declining causing cost cutting measures. As a result, they want to hear about what we are recruiting for right now. What are we hearing from clients? "We’ve got this (we think?)." But do you? Lately, many clients have posted positions in hopes of the perfect person applying. They let us know they want to try hiring on their own for a few weeks. Inevitably, they either call us after weeks of not getting high quality candidates, or they end up just keeping the role posted for weeks/months hoping the right person will apply. This causes a strain on the whole department. Our clients are pretty impressed at the quality of our candidates and how quickly we fill the position. There is nothing wrong with pursuing internal efforts to fill a role. However, organizations can concurrently engage our contingent recruiting services as well. There is no fee unless you hire the candidate we bring to you. Also, our candidates can also serve as a comparison point to the candidates you are getting on your own. What am I feeling about the market? "Certainly uncertain." A recent jobs report showed June added 147k jobs beating economist forecasts. State and local government as well as healthcare sectors led the increase while manufacturing lost jobs due to continued tariff uncertainty. Additionally, unemployment decreased to 4.1% versus a forecasted increase to 4.3%. This was primarily due to a decrease in those looking for work. Although the job market remained strong, some economists are predicting a slowdown in economic growth for the reminder of the year as uncertainty continues around tariffs, trade wars, and geopolitical turmoil. However, this uncertainty has been around for most of the year so far, and the economy has been resilient. ASP Hiring Statistics 40 - Days to Place (avg.) $151,667 - Avg.
